Buying a piece of the pitch
|
Sorry if this has been done or if i've missed it but i've not seen anything on whether us fans can buy a piece of the upton park pitch, anyone know if there are any plans in place to sell it off? They've sold everything else why not the pitch?

Was hoping to put a square in the garden. Would be a shame if they dont do it.

Mate of mine went on the tour yesterday
Weedkiller is being put on the pitch so the people who dig it up can't sell it on

That's obviously bollocks but I'm curious as to the supposed logic behind it?

Played on it in the legends game just over a week ago and it was dry, rock hard, patchy and pretty bare in places. If they were to sell it and you think you would be getting a lush square foot of premier league playing surface you will be pretty much mistaken, and disappointed with it.

Actual grass is usually stripped off by grading machine and tipped at rush green site it's made up of various nutrients as well as horse hair used to tip it myself.

I don't know why they aren't selling it. I have a piece of the old Wembley pitch in glass somewhere.

Fucking pathetic grown adults buying a piece of fucking grass that was probably only laid 2 weeks before the last game.
Grow up.

Here's a story for you.
Pal of mine was at the last game, he got on his pals shoulders to pull down a sign that's on the , he pulled the sign at one end but the sign swung down and cut the blokes head open, had to get an ambulance from the ground.
Serves him right the silly cunt.

I also done demo job for keltbray when they knocked down old Highbury and if you looked on ebay loads of tipper drivers were selling pieces of turf from Arsenal ground quite easy when you take a picture from your cab and then dig it up from any garden so as they say buyer beware.

Its a bit like the Berlin Wall. In the USA they've enough Berlin Wall for the whole of Germany. I reckon you could buy enough Upton Park for all the stadia in London.
